Indian Jindal Stainless’ export sales proportion drops to 10%

Jindal Stainless Ltd (JSL) will start exporting stainless steel to Japan from the second quarter of the 2024-25 fiscal year. In a statement on July 31, Managing Director Abhyuday Jindal mentioned that the proportion of export sales to total sales has decreased to 10% for the April-June period of the 2024-25 fiscal year, down from 17% in the same period of the previous fiscal year. This decline is due to increased transportation routes to Europe and a shortage of containers, prompting the company to explore new markets.

JSL is expanding its supply to markets in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and South Korea, and is expected to commence sales to Japan this quarter.
